The Ukrainian Agri Council (UAC) invites agricultural producers, representatives of seed companies, scientists, educators, and industry experts to join an online roundtable dedicated to the prospects for developing seed production in Ukraine and implementing the best international practices.

During the event, participants will discuss the current state of Ukraine's seed industry, the challenges associated with climate change and European integration, as well as opportunities for implementing innovative technologies and developing international partnerships.

The event program includes:

• a presentation of the results of the project "Strengthening the Capacity of Ukrainian Agricultural Producers through Strategic Partnership in Seed Production," to be presented by the UAC seed production development project coordinator, Oleksandr Valebnyi;
• opportunities for cooperation with the Seed Science Center (SSC) at Iowa State University on developing quality, safety, and innovation in seed production, to be presented by Lulu Rodriguez, the Center's head of global programs;
• a presentation of Jerry Flint's study "Innovations for Ukraine's Seed Sector: Breeding Technologies, Climate Resilience, Digital Tools, and Reforms";
• a discussion of the prospects for implementing the best practices of US seed companies and universities in Ukraine;
• a review of innovative approaches to breeding and adapting the seed sector to climate challenges;
• a discussion of developing a system for independent testing of varieties and hybrids, as well as the role of digital tools in ensuring transparency in the seed market, protecting against counterfeit products, and expanding access to international markets.

The event will bring together representatives of government bodies, scientific institutions, educational establishments, seed companies, specialized associations, and international partners to discuss practical steps for modernizing Ukraine's seed sector.
